A Prayer For Comfort

Not A Trace

An empty space in the room

Feels like an infinite vacuum
Only absence where you once were
Dancing spinning with your arms in the air
Laughing without a care
Now a quiet room with us who are leftover
Wanting to be where you are
Wanting to see you again here in the room
Or anywhere
Longing To hug you
The memory of you grows dimmer each day
This perhaps is my way 

to keep sadness at bay
Because To continue on and to cope
Even with hope my laughter fades

When I remember the space where you were
The smile that entertained your mom
But now you are gone
But you are here in my heart
With each beat that passes I know I'm closer to again seeing you
This promise that God made
My spirit renews
Renew my spirit oh Jah
Please do not hold back my joy
Bring solace to me for the loss of my boy
I would trade a lifetime to spend a moment with him
You know oh Jah the depth of my pain
Hear my cries and help me refrain
From thoughts of despair and an ocean of tears
Let me look to your power and kindness and love
Help me keep my mind on the things above
To Build my faith in you-the compassion and mercy you show the grand things you do
Thank you Jah That you show your face towards me
Please find favor in me and help me mend
until the day when
my boy runs into my arms again.
